PlayStation Vue or also called PS Vue, is a streaming service that’s owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Launched in a limited major-market release in 2015, it featured live TV, on-demand video, and cloud-based DVR to stream movies, TV shows, and sporting events directly to a PlayStation console or other supported streaming devices.
But, before you can use PlayStation Vue on your PlayStation console or streaming device, you’ll need to activate it first. This guide will show you how to activate PS Vue via psvue/activate on various streaming devices and PlayStation console models.
Important: The PlayStation Vue streaming service was discontinued last January 2020 due to “a highly competitive Pay TV industry, with expensive content and network deals, has been slower to change than we expected.” Alternatively, you can try out other streaming services compatible with your streaming device or console.

How to Activate PlayStation Vue on Different Streaming Devices via www.psvue.com/activate
After signing up for a PlayStation Vue account and opting for a subscription plan, you can activate PS Vue on your streaming device to start watching content. Depending on your streaming device, follow the steps below:
Roku
- Turn on your smart TV with the Roku streaming device plugged in.
- Press the Home button on the Roku remote and select Streaming Channels. The Roku Channel Store will now open.
- Search for the Playstation Vue app and select its app icon.
- Choose Add Channel. Then, launch the app and select Activate Your Device. An activation code will now be shown on the screen.
- On another device, visit psvue.com/activateroku and log in using your PlayStation ID.
- Enter the activation code and follow the rest of the activation steps.
- You can now watch PS Vue on Roku.
You use a similar method to activate the Tennis Channel on Roku.
Apple TV
If you’re wondering how to get PlayStation Vue on Apple TV and the overall activation process, follow these steps:
- Open your smart TV with the Apple TV streaming device connected.
- Using the remote, go to the App Store and find the Playstation vue app.
- Select it and choose Get. After it’s installed, launch the app.
- Choose Activate Your Device. You will now see an activation code.
- Using another device, visit psvue.com/activateappletv and log in with your PlayStation ID.
- Input the activation code shown earlier.

Amazon Firestick
- Switch on your smart TV with the Amazon Firestick device connected.
- Press the Home button on your Firestick remote and select Find on the home screen.
- Choose Search and type in the keywords Playstation vue.
- Select its app icon and choose Download.
- Once installed, launch the app and select Activate Your Device. An activation code will now be shown on the screen.
- On your tablet or phone, go to psvue.com/activatefirestick and sign in using your PlayStation ID.
- Enter the activation code shown earlier.
- You can now start watching PS Vue on Firestick.
On PlayStation 3/4/5
To activate PlayStation Vue on PlayStation console models 3, 4, and 5, you’ll need to download the PS Vue app. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Turn on your PlayStation console.
- Using the controller, go to the PlayStation Store and find the PS vue app.
- Select its app icon and choose Download.
- Launch the app and log in using your PlayStation ID.
- You can now start streaming content from the PS Vue app.
