Can You Hide Instagram Posts From Someone?
No. Currently, Instagram does not yet have a feature where you can hide your posts from one of your followers. Unlike other social media apps like Facebook, there’s no hide posts option yet on Instagram. As of now, you can only hide Instagram Stories from a selected few of your followers.
However, you can try effective workarounds where all of your posts will be hidden from a specific follower without them noticing.

How to Hide Instagram Posts From Certain Followers
Though there’s no direct way to hide your posts from one or a list of your followers on Instagram, it’s still possible to do this by following the methods below. Remember to review each method and check which is the most effective for your Instagram posts.
Hiding posts on Instagram is similar to how to hide likes on Twitter.
Method #1: Set Your Profile to Private
One way to hide your posts from a specific user on Instagram is by setting your profile to private. It limits the users that can view your old and new Instagram posts, which can be a privacy issue to some.
To set your Instagram profile to private via the Instagram app on your phone or tablet, follow these steps:
- Launch Instagram on your phone or tablet and log in to your account.
- Tap on your profile thumbnail on the bottom-right side of the screen.
- Choose Settings > Privacy and toggle the Private account option to On.
- Next, tap Switch to Private to confirm. Now, only your followers can view your profile’s photos and videos.
Method #2: Remove the User Followed to Your Account
What if you want to hide all of your current and future posts from one of your followers, but you’re afraid of following them back? You can instead try removing them as your follower. They won’t have access to your current and future posts since the user is not a part of your list of followers, and they won’t notice this unless they intend to search your profile.
Note: To remove users from your followers’ list, you’ll need to first set your profile to private, as in the first method.
To remove one of your followers on Instagram, proceed to these steps:
- Open the Instagram app on your device and sign in to your account.
- Select your profile thumbnail on the bottom-right of the screen to go to your profile page.
- Choose Followers. You will now see the complete list of your Instagram followers.
- Select the Remove button on the right side of the follower you want to remove and choose Remove to confirm.
