Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is a video on demand service that is delivered over the internet via the Internet Protocol (IP). Content is streamed, which allows you to begin the viewing of content immediately and to start at any point in the show. This differs from regular Earth-bound TV and cable television which has set start times for content. It is also different to downloaded content, which must be fully downloaded (which takes time) before viewing can commence.
